Did you know that the first International Women's Day took place over 110 years ago?

The predecessor to International Women's Day was called National Woman's Day.* This event, organized by the Socialist Party of America at the behest of women's rights pioneer Theresa Malkiel,* was held in New York on February 28, 1909.*
